About Course

  • The advanced Diploma in Loss Management is the final stage of the

Theoretic component of the programme. It is designed to prepare students

for managerial responsibilities in the Loss Control and Private Security

Management profession. Graduates are awarded the Certified Professional

Loss Manager (CPLM) qualification upon completion of the programme.

The curriculum assumes candidates have prior knowledge in Loss Control and

Management and acquired at Diploma or Undergraduate degree. It aims at

Exposing trainees to practical knowledge and professional foundation.

This programme is conducted by ICLM on block release and full-time basis

Within Zimbabwe and at accredited centres in SADC Countries.

Course Content

Corporate Governance and Ethics
Corporate scandals, the world over, have made the world focus attention on corporate governance, thus emphasizing its critical role in business sustainability economic growth, and development. Combining real-world examples with theories will explore decision-making within a competitive context and will enable students to demonstrate an understanding of corporate governance. Using corporate governance-related theories; the course will display an appreciation of the theoretical underpinnings of business corporate governance. Students will learn to formulate and respond to different scenarios at different levels.

Strategic Security Management
Strategic Management is one of the modules to be covered by under the Institute of Certified Loss Management(ICLM) loss management programme at the Executive Diploma level. It is a function that provides loss managers with insight into the criticality of strategic management in view of improving organisational performance and competitive edge. A course on loss management will not be complete without the inclusion of conceptual framework of strategic management.This module shall not be meant to a textbook as most of the information contained herein has been extracted from various published textbooks and other scholarly materials with vital contributions to the full understanding of strategic management. Thus, this module shall be meant to be a guide for students of ICLM only in their study of the loss management programme. The module alone may not be sufficient for students to have a comprehensive understanding of strategic management, hence reading textbooks and other study materials on strategic management is recommended for students to have robust mastery of the course.
